We Ride Year Round!

Come join the fun at our After School Riding Club! Secret Pride Stables is located in Wicomico County and coincides with the Wicomico County School District calendar. After school riding club is held after school Mondays (Hunter & Equitation), Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (Eventing lessons). There is a seven child limit per session.

Here at Secret Pride Stables your child will learn how to ride and/or improve their riding skills as well as take care of a their assigned horse during our after school riding club program. Everyone is taught at a level appropriate to their experience. All of our lessons focus on balance, correct equitation, safety, and having fun while getting the most out of the riding session!

Our After School Riding Club has a structured lesson plan updated weekly to keep our students busy with new exercises and tools to help them become better riders. We focus on equitation, dressage, hunter/jumper, pleasure, combined training and also play games on the horses or ride bareback!
Just $35.00 per day!

Enroll your child in an experience he/she will never forget!

True Beginner Riders ~ 4:30 - 5:30

•True Beginner: New to horses and is ready to learn from the ground up. Learning how to control a quiet school horse at the walk and trot and can stop the horse. The beginner rider is still finding their balance and getting comfortable with the horses movement.
•Milestone #1

Beginner Riders ~ 4:30 - 5:30

•Beginner: Understands common safety practices while working around the horse. This rider is balanced at the halt, walk, and trot while applying correct riding aids and maintaining position. They are able to sit and post to the trot in rhythm with the horse and is understanding posting diagonals.
•Milestone #2

Advanced Beginner Riders ~ 4:30 - 6:00

•Advanced Beginner: This rider can mount and dismount unassisted. They are able to ride independantly at the walk, and trot the shapes of the ring while maintaining rhythm. Is comfortable with, and can maintain position at the halt, walk, trot (sitting, posting, and 2 point). This rider is ready to canter!
•Milestone #3
•Trot a groundpole course

Novice Riders ~ 4:30 - 6:00

•Novice: This rider knows basic parts of the horse and tack. They are comfortable tacking and untacking the horse without assistance. They are learning to canter while remaining balanced and in control of the horse. They are understanding their leads and can walk, trot, canter in both the full and half seat position. This rider has been introduced to small jumps and basic dressage.
•Milestones 4 - 8
•Canter a groundpole course with leads
• Level 1 Jumper (18")
• Intro level dressage

Intermediate #1 Riders ~ 4:30 - 6:30

•Intermediate 1: this rider shows seriousness in their riding and has sound equitation skills. Can ride w/t/c with ring shapes and simple changes, knows what diagonal or lead they are on and can correct it quickly. This rider can stop the horse from any gait. This rider has an independent seat and can ride without stirrups and is ready to be introduced to the basic principles of dressage and jumping. This rider is gaining knowledge in stable management and abides by the rules of the ring and emphasizes safety on and around horses.
•Milestones 9 , 10, 11, 12, 15 - 24
• Level 2 Jumper (2' - 2'3)
• Training level dressage
• Elementary eventer
